Description
The Council Building has held the Trade Council since the old council building burned down in an electrical fire 260 years ago. The building holds a main council chamber for when full 50-person council meets, smaller side rooms that are used for committee meetings, and other government offices including the department of education and the department of public works.
A detail of guards is posted around the building at all times. Metal detectors are positioned at all public entrances, and security cameras watch all the major hallways and the main council chambers. The security personnel are very careful about who they let into the building, and check all visitors for weapons, explosives, and various other dangerous or illegal items when they enter. In the name of governmental transparency, human citizens and the human press can sit in on the council while it is in session. However, the lesser species are not permitted in the council chambers during this period. Even the automata who clean the building and prepare paperwork for the government are kicked out of the council chambers, if they happen to be working in them before the legislature goes into session.
